Age Concern Bexley was established as a registered charity in 1965 when 8 local Older Peoples Welfare Committees merged as one organisation.

The voluntary ethos is also continued through involvement of volunteers from all sections of our community who are core to the provision of services and raising awareness of older peoples issues locally. Age Concern now has the status of a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in July 2001 and a registered charity governed by its memorandum and articles of association.


Our mission is to further develop Age Concern Bexley as the leading older people's voluntary organisation in Bexley.



We also aim to ensure that the views, interests and needs of older people are properly heard, understood and addressed.

Our Strategic Objectives

  • To develop an understanding of the issues affecting older people in Bexley by researching their needs and interests.

  • To develop and implement strategies to enable Age Concern Bexley's Advice and Information and other services to be accessed by all older people in Bexley.

  • To seek to ensure that all of the services provided by Age Concern Bexley meet the diverse needs of all older people in Bexley decision-makers.

  • To devise and implement methods of consultation whereby Bexley's older residents can have their opinions and ideas heard by local policy and decision-makers.

  • To continue to provide and develop appropriate services which enhance independent living and the overall well being of older people in Bexley.

  • To ensure Age Concern Bexley is effectively managed as an organisation that is sustainable in the long term.

  • To develop volunteering as an opportunity for older people and a means of strengthening and supporting the work and impact of Age Concern Bexley.

  • To have a programme of and positive commitment to staff development.


Quality assurance

We aim to deliver first class services to older people in the London Borough of Bexley. If however you are unhappy with any aspect of our service or have a suggestion for improvement we have a simple complaints and suggestions procedure.

Confidentiality

All our services operate under a strict code of confidentiality. No information is passed on to any third party outside of Age Concern Bexley without permission for the client.
